DIY (Outside)

A little outside DIY...

Right now we renting a house and we are trying to make small, inexpensive improvements. The front yard has been needing a little TLC and we my husband finally got around to doing it. We aren't done but have made progress and I wanted to share.

This is a picture of the flower bed beside our house (by the driveway). Now don't make fun, I told you it needed some help.

Adam got busy one Saturday morning pulling up weeds and old bushes. I am thankful for a husband who is willing to do things, like this, to make his wife smile. He knows the way to my heart.

It really did not take as long as I thought it would. Adam might say something different since he WAS the one doing the work. I helped a little and was in charge of supervising :)

It went from this to this in just a hour or so...

And finally it looks like this...

Who doesn't love a pine straw?

SO MUCH BETTER.

Trip to Denver

Ok, spring break is over and I was forced got right back in the grove of things today at school.

 FOUR. WEEKS. UNTIL. SUMMER.

Last week was spent around my house cleaning, catching up, and visiting my mom, friends, and family. It was a perfect, simple break.

The week before SB I had the opportunity to go, with a few other teachers, to a math conference in Denver, Colorado.

We hit the ground running as soon as our plane landed in Denver. We learned many great, new ideas while at the conference. It makes me excited to implement all the new things next year. If you are reading this and teach math, I would love to share some things with you. Leave me a comment and I will email you.

Denver was freezing. We arrived on Tuesday night and when we woke up Wednesday morning it was snowing...and it snowed alllllll day long. I like snow, it really is great, BUT after being in it Wednesday and getting drenched,  I realized, I REALLY like warm weather.

I goofed and forgot to take my camera but I did get some pictures on my phone. Snow really makes everything pretty and picture worthy.

Easter Recap

We had a fabulous Easter. We celebrated with family and our sweet DWBC family.

I got to be the Easter photographer at church. ha. It was fun and the pictures really turned out great.

KidsWay Worship was packed. We loved every minute of it.

After church we had lunch with family.

I am blessed to have all of these ladies in my life.

Aren't they adorable in their matching dresses.

Our First Easter.

Easter was truly amazing. I love the season and what it means to a sinner like me. Thank you, Jesus for the cross.

Coffee and Conversation: #5

THIS WEEK'S QUESTION:

What are you currently struggling or grappling with in your life?

Maybe the better question is...what are you not struggling with? Sometimes I feel like my whole crazy, small life is a struggle. That is when I quickly have to realize and thank God for all He has blessed me with.

If I am being completely honest, I would say being content is my biggest struggle right now. Some days I wake up and ask God to help me be content during the day. (How silly when I have so much to be thankful for) I struggle with not only in the big things in life but also the little things. I want so bad to think I need new and better things. Big things, like a new house and little things, like new clothes. So much of our lives are spent looking forward to the next thing. When you are in highschool it is graduation, then college, finding "Mr. Right", and eventually marriage. I (maybe you too) seem to never be content right where the Lord has me. We are always looking to the future and what is next.

The Lord is teaching me (thankfully He doesn't give up) to live in the moment, be incredibly thankful for right where I am and to be content.
